Me and my guy argued a little bit a few nights ago. Then the next day he asked me was I feeling better (As I had been quite sick for several days) I said yes, what made you ask that, and he said I have never lied to you that I care about how you are doing. What did he really mean by that and I wonder why he just said that like that? Any sincere advice appreciated! Thanks!

My sincere advice would be that perhaps you might like to enlighten us a bit more as to what the two of you were arguing about prior to him saying what he did. In my life, I say what I mean and also appreciate it if the people with whom I am communicating take what I am saying to be that which I really mean.
I don't play games with what I say to people unless it is obvious to them, based upon my intent, that I am intending to be joking around with them because of what I am saying.
Just my thoughts...
Thanks!

We had argued or really discussed about what type of relationship he wanted. I was hurt because he had said he wanted a lover for extra sex and passion. Then the rest above is what he said to me at a later time

Do you have any reason to doubt that he really cares about you? Thanks!

Well, that is just it, I am not completely sure. I feel he really cares, but with that statement about wanting a lover for extra sex and passion it has made me wonder.

I too, was wondering about the "lover for extra sex and passion" part.
If you have a good relationship with someone, then a good part of it will be based on your having open communication with each other.
If I were you, I would ask him straight up as to what he meant about what he said. Doing that would help to test how open he really is about caring about you and also about how open the commutation the two of you have really is.
There is no doubt that others will be responding to your post. Some of then who respond will have excellent advice based upon good experience. Some of the other who respond might respond without having bothered to read any of the posts that have already been posted.
