First problem. When I do a Google search and I click on the desired link I get sent to pages other than that which I selected. This happens on explorer and mozilla. What's going on?

Second problem. When I perform a virus scan it getts to a certain point (c:Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Local S... \activitylog.dat) it shuts down. Again what's going on?

Third problem. I have selected to see hidden files to look for things that don't belong. However when I go into HP Administrator Folder and select any of these it automatically closes the window. It displays an error message to quick to read. Again, what's going on?

First Problem: Spyware problem

For the other two more info is needed:

Operating System ?
Are you signed in as the Administrator ?

I am using antivirus software provided by Bell, however I just started using this after the problems started. I tried updating symantec antivirus about two months ago but apparently I was taken on the net because it never worked and it said my last update was a year ago.

Operating system is XP

Yes I believe I am signed in as the administrator.

Oh and I also tried using Microsoft onecare free scanner and that would not work either.

Your symantec had probably expired, your PC is most likely infected with lots of spyware, you need a good antivirus/spyware apackage. Is your Bell a paid subscription or just a free version, if its free you need the full version, you should go with McAfee or Kaspersky.

To see what type of account your using:
Move your pointer over the clock on the bottom right of your screen. Right-click the clock, and then click, Adjust Date/Time.

• If you're using a Limited User account, you will get a message reading "You do not have the proper privilege level to change System Time."

• If you are using an Administrator account, a small window will open with controls you can use to change the time and date on your computer.
