You should step back, like you should have a long time ago and never got involved with him. If he cheated on his wife of 15 years, what makes you think it can't happen to you?

I stay away from situations with people who have that much baggage, and am cautious, of the ones who have a lot of unfinished business. It drags on forever, and is a distraction from the healthier things in life.

You can never have all of their attention, or time because of past obligations so, tread carefully as you never know if he is using you to help him cope with a difficult situation. I don't care what he says. Protect yourself.

This is one unhealthy situation to be in, and frankly I wouldn't be.
