I have a kenmore washer dryer combo model 417.94842301. I am trying to replace the start knob for the dryer and am having difficulty getting the knob for the washer to remove. How do I remove the knob for the washer?

I don't understand why you want to remove the washer knob; is it to use for the dryer?

Well, upon moving the washer dryer combo we accidentally broke the start knob for the dryer off. We have a replacement but we are having difficulty replacing it because the only knob that won't come off is the actual washer timer knob.
