Can anyone tell me if you defo need photo i.d to open any type of bank account? I have suspisions that someone I know has opened an account in my name and want to know if you need photo id?

You generally need at least two forms of id. One should be a picture id such as a driver's license, and the other should be your social security card or a major credit card with your name and signature on it.

While yes you are suppose to, as anyone knows there are loopholes, exceptions and down right fraud at times, What makes you suspect there is?
Have you checked with that bank using your ID to see if they have an account under your social security number
