Hi. I hope you guys can help me with my problem.

A Compaq iPAQ h3600 I bought from my cousin cannot connect to my PC. I'm using Windows XP Professional Version 2002. When I attached the PDA via USB, Windows couldn't locate the driver.

Unfortunately, my cousin lost the original iPAQ installation CD. I downloaded ActiveSync 4.5, but no luck connecting. My PC detected the COM1 port and the USB, but not the PDA. I tried the PDA on another PC running Windows Vista, but the results were the same.

I also downloaded and installed some of the drivers available on HP's site, but they didn't work either.

I love the iPAQ because it's easy to use, but with the connection problem, should I consider it a lost cause?

You may have to consider it a broken PDA. If your computer does not acknowledge in any way you've attached a USB device, even if it can't find the correct drivers yet, then the device's USB port may be shot.

It happens.
