My ex-girl friend just recently got pregnant and I'm the father. She is already planing on putting me on child support. And she doesn't won't me to know anything about her pernancy. What rights do I have as the father of the child? Also she going to be placed into custody in the county jail. What would happen to the child if that happens? Would I get custody over the child, or again what are my rights?

As you are the biological father, you will have to provide child support for our child, unless the child ends up living with you.
Also, if the mother is going to be in jail and you want to have custody of our child it's very likely that you will have no problem getting a Court Order granting you custody.
Good luck!

Until the baby is born you don't have any rights. She will have to take you to court for child support and at that time you also counter file for visitation or custody if you want. Do you know for sure she is going to jail? If she is in jail you shouldn't have a problem gaining custody especially after a court ordered DNA test proving you are the father.

As soon as the child is born you can file for custody. You can wait until she applies for support or until she's jailed. But if you can prove she will be jailed, then I would apply as soon as the child is born.

She can plan all she wants but nothing happens until the child is born and if you gain 50% or more custody then your more then likely will pay no or little child support. What is she going to jail for ? How long is her sentence ? If there is a possibility that she is going to be in jail at the time of birth you may be able to act at the time of birth to order dna testing while the child is still in the hospital and be able to take custody from there. You really are going to need a lawyer for all this so you don't turn into a walking wallet for a state aided program.
