Does the bathtub drain and overflow pipes just get set into the p trap or is it supposed to be sealed in somehow as with pvc cement or a nut ?
I have a metal tub which I took out and it had a brass drain and overflow which appeared to just be set into black ABS ? P trap. This bathtub was on the second floor and at some point in time had leaked down on my first floor ceiling. The tub is rusty where it connects to the overflow so I wondered whether the leak had come from the tub overflow meeting or the drain pipe to p trap meeting.
I would like to put this tub back in after I add a shower. What steps should I take to do it right.
Thanks for any help
