I was convicted of my first dui offense a week ago and have served my mandatory 30-day suspension. All my "ducks are in a row" now to get my license restricted (have the sr-22 filed, enrolled in the alcohol school, etc).

My question is: Will the restricted license allow me to drive to and from school (as in the college I attend)?

I really won't be taking any chances at any point with this restriction and take it very seriously. I am just wanting to know whether I can drive to and from school. Again I live in California...

From the California website: "Restricted driving privileges are limited and permit you to drive to and from work, school, and attendance at mandatory DUI program classes only."

I haven't been cute since I was 4. Maybe 3.

How about hot? Could you change "cute" to "hot"? I need the publicity.

Ok, Judy's "HOT". Because I said so, so there. AND she's glamorous with her push up bras that she wears in court so everyone will pay rapt attention to her testimony. So there. I'm jealous...

I forgot all about that - points awarded to Twinkie for good memory! Oh, yes, that was a classic post.

Hi Judy,

I went to the DMV today and got my restricted license, however, they told me I am NOT allowed to drive to and from school with it?

The Court always has the ability to make rules to suit the circumstance - I quoted California law and for whatever reason the Judge went in another direction.

What CAN you do with a restricted license if you can't go to school - ?
