Dear Ask Me Help desk,

The outside well water pump does not produce water. I tried priming it but it did not work. We do get water into the house. The inside holding tank is operating fine. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

Your question is confusing. Do you have two pumps? One that works and the other that don't? Please explain with more details. Tom

Thanks for your quick response. Sorry about the confusion. We have only one pump and it is outside qt the well. When I pump it no water comes out.

However, water from the well is correctly piped into the house So, again, my only problem is I cannot get water at the pump.

Do you mean a hand pump?

Do you mean a pipe that comes up out of the ground with a pump like handle on it?

You have to prime your pump before it will lift water. Good luck, Tom

If it's like most I have seen, you will need to get a bucket of water and begin to pour it into the top of the pump housing while you work the handle VIGOROUSLY. Usually a few seconds is all it takes.

poconodon,
If you won't accept the advice of people who are trying to help you why are you giving unfavorable marks(reddies) to those of us that have told you how to solve your problem. I simply asked a question and got a bad mark for it. Jlisenbe told you exactly how to prime your pump and got a bad mark for it. If that didn't work perhaps the leathers in the pump are bad. I don't think I wish to respond any more if all you're going to do is put down the experts who are attempting to help. This will be my final post. Good bye and good luck, Tom
