I currently have in my shower pan, one solid piece of granite. However, the water is not draining properly due to an incorrect slope. We are trying to avoid demoing this floor to save money and time especially we did not want to take the chance in ruining the hot mop and then having to redo it. Therefore, we are thinking of tiling over this granite with some 4x4 tiles with the correct slope. My problem is the shower drain. How do I raise it? I was told that possibly a push-in shower drain may work. If this works does my tile guys go in first and then is it simple enough for them to install this push in shower drain, or do I need to hire a plumber?
