Dear help desk,

While reparing a bathroom sink p-trap, there was a "hissing" back pressure that lasted approximately 6-10 seconds.

My septic tank and drainfied was pumped and replaced within the last 2 years.

Please give me several options to correct the problem.

P.S. The drainfield was replaced with a gravelless system.

Thanks for your help.

Was a toilet flushed somewhere at this time. Why do you say back pressure, could it have been a "hissihg" from suction?

hkstroud: go to Advanced and insert smilly face...

Anyway, if you work on plumbing system and somebody is using water in another part of the house , you can hear "hissing" sound in the pipe. Including refilling icemaker.
