Well according to the Democrats it will take 10 yrs before they can actually HAVE gas from the new drilling SO I am sure that is what they are banking on.
Right now it will not lower gas prices because the actuality will be a future benefit not one now.

Hmm, 2 weeks ago I paid $3.87 per gallon and last week I paid $3.66... that was before their prayers. But keep on prayin' anyway folks, it never hurts.

What's so funny? That the Dems refuse to lift their ban on this extra drilling?

The fact that people are praying at gas stations to get gas prices lower. Nothing more nothing less. Oh and Gal I am ALL for drilling here for Oil. If you look at the thread from Progunr I already stated that. So you can go troll for an argument somewhere else.

That is funny! Reminds me that as the gas went up in Vegas, I thought to myself, "Oh! G-d I'll be buying a moped soon."

As usual it's a bit more complicated than that.

Arctic Refuge drilling controversy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arctic_Refuge_drilling_controversy)

On June 18, 2008 President George W. Bush pressed Congress to reverse the ban on offshore drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in addition to approving the extraction of oil from shale on federal lands. Despite his previous stance on the issue, President Bush cited the growing energy crisis as a major factor for reversing the presidential executive order issued by President George H. W. Bush in 1990, which banned coastal oil exploration and oil and gas leasing on most of the outer continental shelf. In conjunction with the presidential order, the Congressional moratorium banning drilling was first enacted in 1982 and has been renewed annually.

True, Bush I did issue the ban on drilling, but oil was only a fraction of what it is now. Times change, and so should policies when it is apparent that continuation of present policy is only hurting us. Congress should act NOW, before they take their vacation.
