I recently got a new puppy for my little girl. I've never had to dispense meds to a dog before and was wondering...My puppy swallowed a chewable heartworm tablet whole. Is the medication still as effective if it isn't chewed?

Maybe you can show a pic of your pupply on the OTHER SIDE OF THE CAGE. I really do object to to cages because I have never had to use a crate for a dog.

Getting back to your question. Whatever way you have of getting the med down his gullet is good. It will still work as soon as it reaches the bottom.

Now can we see a pic of the puppy out of the cage ? What kind of pup is it, it looks like a rotty, maybe just a mix. Good luck with the pup :)

What's up with the animal rights lecture? FYI: We don't keep her in a cage. We've had her for 1 week. The picture, in case you're wondering, was taken by the breeder before we even owned her. It's the picture that my family and I fell in love with and that's why I used it for my profile. She's an Australian Shepherd not a rotty!! ;p

Before you judge me, make sure YOUR hands are clean!!

Sorry tflores but we have a lot of different personalities coming on the forum.

What a comment. Make sure my hands are clean? What does that mean ?

I answered your question re the med being effective, and I said, as long as it gets down, it still work. I don't know why are you so defensive.

Thanks for letting me know what kind of pup you had and I hope you have many happy years with your dog.

We love our pets and I took offense to the comment you made "why don't you take a pic of your dog on the other side of the fence". I thought that was uncalled for and really ignorant for you to judge what kind of person I am by a mere picture. I didn't ask the question so that I could get a rude comment sent back to me. Thanks anyway.
