Hi there... I have a darling, endearing 1 year old pup (Maggie May) of which I swear she's Jack Russell, at least partially - with her extremely long legs, long neck, thin stature and fun personality. However, she has a dark under belly and a blonde/buff/golden coat which suggest another breed in addition. Her chin markings resemble that of a German Shepherd. Her personality is one of a hunting dog; lives to chase the cats, birds, and vermen out of the yard... playful as the day is long. But extremely loving and a cuddle dog... loves to give kisses.
Here are some pictures.

Hi, buggie,
What a beautiful dog! And Great pictures, too.
Here is a link for the different breeds of dogs:
http://www.akc.org/breeds/index.cfm
On the left of the site, is a choice of how to view all the different breeds; but don't know if that will help in narrowing it down.
I wouldn't be able to guess at what mix she is.
What does your Vet think? He/she would be able to narrow it down some.
I do think there is some terrior in her, too.
Best wishes.

Why, thank you Fred! Maggie is indeed a beautiful baby (and yeah, I'm probably a little biased too!). :) The vet said Sheltie... I don't see ANY sheltie in her. The only thing that's semi-similar is the lean body style. She has a much shorter snout, coat, and completely different face structure. The assistant in his office said beagle/terrier. I have a beagle... and she only resembles him a tiny bit... So, that's why I'm reaching out to the internet population who have probably seen every combination possible.
Anyway, thank you for your suggestion and reply!

definately terrier....I'd guess at beagle and chi...
Too funny... after I posted this original message, I did some research. Apparently, there is a new "hybrid" association and a new combination that is recognzied is "Jackuahua"... Jack Russell and Chihuahua. Here is the "hybrid's" picture...

Our Maggie May
My Mom thought it was as close to a spitting image as one could get. What do you think?

*L* I'd say you have your answer *L* I hate the word "hybrid"... the shelters are full of "hybrids"... in other words, mixed breeds, mutts... but "hybrid" brings a greater dollar amount. She is a cutie!

Oh yeah! Those pictures of your very cute pup and the "hybrid" look extremely similar. As Melinda says I think you have your answer. Enjoy your Maggie May, she looks like a great dog!
I don't really like the term "hybrid" either... it reminds me of a plant, or else some weird mutation...

You guys are so sweet! Thank you... all your kind words bring such a huge smile and a warm feeling to my heart.
I whole heartedly agree with you. I don't particularly like the term "hybrid" either; sounds like an experimental vehicle. Though I do like it better than mutt! :) I think my Mom's term "Heinz 57" is a great way to describe a mixed breed pup...
Anyway, thank you so much for all your input. Maggie thanks you! :)

And who, actually cares?
She has a kind look in her eyes, is nice, and warm, and playful. What else do you need?
And please hug the Beagle for me: we used to have Beagles years ago and I still miss them!
Enjoy your wonderful dogs,
Millie :)

Though I understand and appreciate what you're saying, I have to say, "I do!"... It's kind of like the equivalent of being adopted and not knowing your background... so you put the pieces together in an attempt to understand.
Anyway, I do appreciate your kind words and will definitely give Bubba (our Beagle) a hug & kiss for you... he just loves any and all attention! :)
Take care...
