My dog is 16 years old, and has just recently started pooping in the house. Sometimes it is like she doesn't even know she is doing it. Sometimes she will stand up from lying down and seem to not even realize that she is pooping. Do you think she might have a medical condition, or just getting lazy?
Thanks

First thing to do is get her into the vet for a complete checkup. The problem could be physiological in nature. If it is not, she could be exhibiting signs of cognitive behavioral disorder. There are medications to help with cognitive dysfunctions. She would probably be showing other signs of this, too, such as not greeting you as much when you come home after an absence and seeming to have lost interest in being petted, etc. If there are no other changes in her personality, the problem might be something physical. In any case, a visit to the vet is warranted.

She is 16 years old. She does not have the abilityt to hold it anymore. She needs to be walked more often and should be placed on a low residue food. (con get from doc. It tends to be mild and produces less poop. Good luck
