I wouldn't really call myself a teen, I will be 20 in Sept. and I have posted a question previously and just wanted to see if I could get more feedback.

The story goes I went off because about 2 1/2 months ago now, and yes of course I'm sexually active. The kicker is I have been told that you can get pregnant from precum. Is that true or false? But I'm going on about 3 weeks late and yes, I'm somewhat concerned with being pregnant considering I'm in college right now trying to get my RN, and a baby isn't want I need right now. We have unprotected sex at first and before he hits climax we put one on, is that a no no or what? Anyway... I told you I was going on 3 weeks late, I have been really tired (go to bed early & wake up late) and still feel like I need a nap at 3 in the afternoon, my nipples have been very very sensitive, TMI buttt I have had a white discharge (no ordor, itching, or burning) I have heard that is the body developing the mucus plug, and these weird cramps. Like not even close to menstral cramps, not to mention I feel different, like something is wrong... I just can't quite put my finger on it. I have taken 4 pregnancy tests, and they have all been negative so far, but I don't know if I'm going to be one of those woman that have strange hCG levels either. I need some advice! Good or bad I'll take it! Im to afraid to go get a blood test in fear that they are going to say "Welp, those other tests are wrong you are definately pregnant!"

Yes, you can get pregnant from pre, so it's definitely a possibility. I would say it's time to go to the doctor for a blood test. If you aren't pregnant then get your doctor to put you on birth control while you are there. The fact is that no form of birth control is 100%, sex=babies, so if you got lucky this time at least lower the odds with birth control and a condom. Just fyi, my friend, who has POD and only one ovary and was on the pill + used a condom just got pregnant for the third time. Need I say more?

Good luck.

You are 20 and you are asking if you can fall pregnant from "precum"? Amazing !
Yes, you can. Semen are present in almost always present in "precum".

You state that you "yes of course are sexually active".
Than at least know what you are doing, and use protection.
You by taking the pill AND by insisting your boyfriend(s) to use a condom.
Falling pregnant is one thing, getting a Venereal Disease is another.

You stated that you're too afraid to go and get a blood test.
If I read your post you should be eager to do both a pregnancy test and a VD test.

Who do you try to "kid" here? Yourself? Why?

If you think you are old enough to have regular sex, than at least be also more responsible. Not only to yourself, but also to your sex-partner(s). You are playing with fire...

First of all I was always told that you couldn't get pregnant from precum, that it was just a myth, and second I don't want to be pregnant cause I don't want to see my life shatter! I have high hopes and in nursing school right now. So yes, I am anxious to know so I can stop stressing, but no I don't want to know because I don't want to hear "bad" news! My partner knows very well what is going on, and doesn't care!

You're in nursing school and you don't know that you can get pregnant from precum. Well dear, trust me, it isn't a myth.

You don't want to find out because you don't want to hear the bad news, this isn't one of those things that will just go away if you ignore it. If you are pregnant then that baby is growing, and growing, and sooner or later you will know, test or no test. Also, if you are pregnant and planning on having the baby then you need to get on prenatal vitamins and see a doctor so that you can ensure the health of your child.

Your partner know what's going on and doesn't care, well, isn't he a peach? Let's see if he cares when he has to pay child support.

Stress can cause your period to be late too, so don't count your chickens before they hatch. Go to the doctor and find out for sure, then come back and we can help you more. We cannot tell you whether you are pregnant, that's one thing you will have to find out on your own.

Good luck.

Thanks. I plan on calling the Dr. first thing Monday morning! I know what being scared isn't a big enough excuse, eventually I will have to face the music! Im in Nursing school, but when I brought the question up, my instructors looked at me as if I was crazy. Like I said I had always been told it wasn't true! Lol I knew people would think I was dumb for asking that question.

I don't think you are dumb, just misinformed. Unfortunately you got this info a bit too late. If you are pregnant you do have options, and we're here to help you through this.

Get the test and let us know how it goes, we're here if you need us. :)

Anybody up for "What you should have learned about sex by the __ grade? FAQ.

This sexuality stuff that I see here makes me cringe. At least I had 3 classes. One in grade school, one in high school and "Foundations of Human Sexuality" in college. The latter class was about 240 girls 10 guys and mostly NURSING majors. The last class had a co-ed lab. Really fun stuff like pass around a bag filled with all sorts of stuff IUD, Condums, today sponge. You grabbed one out of the bag and tried to tell the class what it was.

Unfortunately sex education today is sorely lacking, and some parents aren't picking up the slack, or so it seems. I guess it's up to us to educate. So pass around the bag and let's play show and tell. :)

This is tf1288's topic. I suggest that another topic is started elsewhere about that "bag". That may be a good topic on itself ! :)

A wise decision ! I'm glad to understand that you have on the moment only one boyfriend, which makes the possible VD problem at least a lot smaller.

Good luck to the both of you !

Yes, please remember, that no birth control is 100 percent, pulling out is not even a method, and from the pre , yes you can. It just has a lower amount of sperm but still has it.
Also as you get sexually activie again, remember even on the pill, and using a condom you can still get pregnant, although odds are allot lower. The average, ( average) failure rate using condoms is still at 10 percent, and some stats show it higher than that.
