My Kenmore Elite washer Model 110.23022100 suddenly stopped working. It fills up with water just fine. Then, instead of running, it makes a loud almost grinding noise. Nothing inside the tub is moving. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Replace the coupler located between the motor and the transmission. About $35.00 and 30 minutes of time

Hi esquire1. Follow-up: It worked! It took a few minutes to figure out how to dismantle the unit to reach the coupler. But I got there. Sure enough, the coupler was cracked in half. Simple fix. I doing a load of wash right now as we "speak". It's working like a charm. Thanks a million!!
