I am trying to start a tile installation business and need general information for getting started. Specifically, marketing and licensing. Any helpful info. Would be appreciated.

Around where I live, a person doesn't have to have a license to install tile of any kind. So, it would be best to be checking with the city officials where you want to be working concerning any sort of license concerning that. You definitely are going to need at least liability insurance, though. Also, being bonded might be a good marketing tool in terms of advertising, but probably isn't really necessary.

Some questions for you:

How experienced are you at installing tile? And, if you have had some experience, what types of tile have you installed? Also, what type of tile installation would you be wanting to market and would you be having any people doing work with you whom you would consider to be your employees?

I can definitely help you with the marketing end of things as I do have a number of small businesses that I operate and most of my business comes from the ads that I place on sites on the Internet. I get calls just about every day for new business.

Please do let me know about the answers to the questions that I asked above.

Thanks!
