American Standard Heritage 16 is a Dual Stage Scroll Heat pump
Air Handler is 4TEE Variable Speed.
I have resistance electric for AUX/EMER heat in the new air handler, making the system a 3H, 2C
The connections on the Air Handler and Heat Pump look like "conventional hookups" with connections labeled W1, W2, W3, Y1, Y2, etc.
My contractor is telling me that we have to run my Thermostat in conventional mode, vs. Heat Pump Mode to make the connections work.
I do not believe it-- the Thermostat should run in Heat Pump mode to harness the 3H, 2C functions and to use the other programmable goodies in the 8321 (like cycle per hour limitation and minimum compressor off time, etc).
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I think the contractor is incorrect on this one-- I want to run the fancy new thermostat in Heat Pump mode!
