Lets open this up a bit more, shall we?

If you had to choose ONE of the following, what would represent you?

Either a...
1. Book - what book?
2. Movie - what movie? What character?
3. Author - which author? What work?
4. Poem - what poem?
5. Quote - what quote?
6. Song - what song? What are the lyrics?

For me? I think Emily D.ckinson summed up my essence of life in her poem:

IF I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Course, this one is me too... "I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot. I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time."

Jack London

Ok, maybe TWO things to sum you up! :o

1. Book- (well books really) The Twilight Saga Series

Why?- Because I'm just an ordinary "Bella" waiting for something exciting to happen.

2. Movie- (movies again hehe) Harry Potter Series

Character- Hermione

Why?- Because I'm that smart girl that doesn't get noticed til' I grow up (when being intelligent is most important). Plus ---> I like to believe in the practical side of life.

Cool, hardgirl and nohelp! Hopelessly, I've got none... I don't usually read, (just started!;)) and anyway never found one which kind of represent me... The movies, I watch them but never considered one that here again 'represented' me. It's even hopeless for the authors, poems, song and quote. Perhaps I'll found mine later... but until then... well.:(

Don't worry Unky,

You'll find your representation by something one day!

Just read books or watch movies that you can relate to.

You know, something that has happened in your life...

That is written about or acted out... yep

I'll just stop talking now... haha okay bye!

Oh, and Good Luck buddie! :D

Movie - Star wars
Character - Luke Skywalker, I feel a greater sense of myself, but I keep quetioning it. (no I don't mean I have specail abilities or I'm more than others, but rather the same as every body else. As far as capabilities are.)

Quote - “Do or do not... there is no try.” (on account that trying is doing, so long as you never give up!)
- “[Luke:] I can't believe it. [Yoda:] That is why you fail.” (in other words, anything ispossible.)

Song - Battle of evermore by Led Zepplin

Lyrics - Queen of light took her bow
And then she turned to go,
The prince of peace embraced the gloom
And walked the night alone.
Oh, dance in the dark of night,
Sing to the morn - ing light.
The dark lord rides in force tonight
And time will tell us all.
Oh, throw down your plow and hoe,
Rest not to lock your homes.
Side by side we wait the might
Of the darkest of them all.
I hear the horses thunder
Down in the valley blow,
Im waiting for the angels of avalon,
Waiting for the eastern glow.
The apples of the valley hold,
The seas of happiness,
The ground is rich from tender care,
Repay, do not forget, no, no.
Oh,-------dance in the dark of night,
Sing to the morning light.
The apples turn to brown and black, the tyrants face is red.
Oh the war is common cry, pick up you swords and fly.
The sky is filled with good and bad
That mortals never know.
Oh, well, the night is long, the beads of time pass slow,
Tired eyes on the sunrise, waiting for the eastern glow.
The pain of war cannot exceed
The woe of aftermath,
The drums will shake the castle wall,
The ring wraiths ride in black, ride on.
Sing as you raise your bow,
Shoot straighter than before.
No comfort has the fire at night
That lights the face so cold.
Oh dance in the dark of night,
Sing to the mornin light.
The magic runes are writ in gold
To bring the balance back, bring it back.
At last the sun is shining, the clouds of blue roll by,
With flames from the dragon of darkness
The sunlight blinds his eyes.

(a seemingly never ending feud, between my brain, and my mind.)

Yes, yes my precious, haha just kidding. This song has a lot to do with Lord of the rings, before the movies.

Great descriptions, guys! I love it!

My favorite "I wish someone would describe me as this" is from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice... it is how Lorenzo describes Jessica... :D

"Beshrew me but I love her heartily,
For she is wise, if I can judge of her,
And fair she is, if that mine eyes be true,
And true she is, as she hath proved herself;
And therefore, like herself, wise, fair, and true,
Shall she be placed in my constant soul."

2. Movie - what movie? What character?

Patch Adams... Patch Adams...

I learned through my cancer that laughter is very important in the healing process. I have carried that over from my days as a patient to my days as a nurse.

Patch Adams is one of the best medical movies ever. Laughter is definitely the best medicine.

You're a cancer survivor? Another reason to think the world of you... wow... :) In the very least, for our sakes, I'm very thankful that you were victorious!

You're a cancer survivor?

Thank you HC for the compliment, you are so very kind.

My "unbirthday" was July 17, I turned 11 :p . The day I was given my life back through a bilateral radical mastectomy. Best day of my life, I can tell you. That was 11 years ago, and I have been healthier since than I ever was before, physically and mentally.

Having lost my Dad to cancer, it makes me bubble over with joy to hear when people do survive, and are making a difference in their world with their lives.

There have been great strides in even the 11 years since I was diagnosed. I am so sorry to hear you lost your father to cancer. It is terrible not only for the patient but for the family as well. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you - he was and continues to be my hero. My life, what I am and what I do, is a testament to his legacy. I can honestly and truly say that I have not a single bad memory of him.

You are truly a daughter that is blessed. Hold those memories deep in your heart and continue to do the good that you can do... pass on his legacy. I am sure he is very proud of you. I can only pray that when I pass my children will feel the same about me that you feel about your father.

OMG, I am so sorry I was a thread thief... (blush)

HistorianChick agrees: The illustrious title "thread theif" is not applicable when the OP is in the line of thread theivery! ;}

Yes, I suppose you are the thread boss aren't you? LOL

Thread Theivery... mwahhhaaahhhaaa... ;)

I don't think its all that far from my original question, really... Its all about self-titling... describing yourself... and what better describes yourself than telling how you've come to where you are?

I think the song that describes my life in so many areas is a delightful mix (cocktail, if you will) of Stand by Rascal Flatts. YouTube - Rascal Flatts - Stand (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8zWb0-pCbQ) and Charmed Life by Leigh Nash Leigh Nash Lyrics, Charmed Life Lyrics >> (http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/uptowngirls/charmedlife.htm)

Random and odd, I know :)

Bookwise.. I find no one. Song.. none.

Book: Yargo by Jacqueline Susann because main character felt like a "misfit" in her own time but let herself become a heroine in another world.
