I am about 4 weeks pregnant, had started to lightly bleed a darker color of blood. Is this mean I am miscarring or is there something else that could be going on? I have been bleeding for at least 24hours now if not longer.

Then you HAVE TO GET YOURSELF TO EMERGENCY RIGHT AWAY! I don't know why you even ask if it is TWENTY FOUR HOURS OF BLEEDING!!

As tickle said, certainly any bleeding should be checked out. It is not uncommon, however, for some women to have bleeding or spotting in early pregnancy simply due to hormone changes. Unfortunately, IF it is due to a miscarriage, there would be little they could do at this point.

I have experienced a few miscsarriages as well as having a 2 year old and being 33 weeks pregnant with my second. With each "normal" pregnancy I had an implantation bleed which I thought was my period so it could be this. It lasted about 24-48 hours and then went away. It was orange blood!

However with my miscarriages I also bled at around 6 weeks and then at around 7 weeks. If you are only 4 weeks pregnant you should maybe chat to your doc and see what they say. A scan at this stage will show very little and they usually scan around 6 weeks. This can seem forever when you are pregnant!

Good luck and let us know. You may be lucky.
