Hi! I was wondering if anyone can help me with my problem. First time you turn on the A/C for the day it works fine both fan and compressor but after it reaches its desired temp of course it stops and when the room temperature goes up the fan kicks on but the compressor will not come on. I experimented on wetting the condenser coils and after a few minutes it comes on. I did check the electrical and everything seems to be fine. Just not sure on how to test the capacitor. Anyone please help. Thanks!

Many thermostats have a 5 minute delay built in. What is the EXACT brand and model number of your thermostat.

The fan that comes on is it the inside fan you are talking about?
