Hello,

I would like to know if anyone can help me find my 401k from 1986. At that time I lived in California. The clinic that I worked in back then has now gone out of business. I never did anything to find out where my 401k went but now I need to find it.

If anyone can direct me in the right direction I would really appreciated it. Thank you

Ximena

Copies of your tax records where you were using the 401K as a deduction?

Fellow workers you worked with that may know.

Have you moved since working there, since they should have been sending you annual notices of your account.

It's possible that since the plan administrator has lost track of you that they have turned the assets of your old 401(k) over to the state of CA. You can do a search to see if CA has a record of your lost property - see:

UCP Inquiry System (http://scoweb.sco.ca.gov/UCP/)

You can also try the National Registry of Unclaimd Retirement Benefits:

https://www.unclaimedretirementbenefits.com/

Post back and let us know if either of these worked for you.
