Is there an effective method to help increase healthy beard growth?

You could try something like Rogaine on it. Facial hair is no different than head hair.
The thing to remember is that these types of products can work to thicken hair by treating the follicles, but there's nothing yet that has been shown to produce hair where there is no hair follicle.

Do not use Rogaine on your face, it could cause serious side effects. It's designed to work only on peoples' heads. So please avoid putting it on your face or near your eyes.
Basically, there is nothing that you can do to increase your beard development. Genetics and hormones are the major determinants of an individual's beard development. Unless you suffer from a hormonal imbalance, generally there is no medical treatment available to increase beard growth. If you have any doubts or concerns, you should consult a physician and possibly even an endocrinologist and dermatologist.
Adolescent and young adult males can reasonably expect that the development of their facial hair will increase over time. Genetics and hormones, however, remain the controlling factors. The timetable varies widely among individuals. Some may develop fully mature beard growth in the teen years, while others may not do so until their late twenties. Still others may never develop appreciable beard growth.

If you suffer from hormones which I think is the same reason why I'm not able to grow a full beard ask a doctor. You can get shots for it by a doctor but I'm not too sure if it is safe. IM really considering doing it because it is very strange that I'm 20 and most of the guys I know have full beards and all I can grow is weak side burns, some hair on my chin(which is dark), and a thin mustash. JUst get use to it because having hair on your face doesn't make you any less of a man. As I was told I'm lucky since I don't have to shave everyday and it doesn't look like I have pubes all over my face. I just want it all to grow in evenly and not just in certain spots.

You should try to be more manly!! Maybe chop down a tree, or fight a bear! Real men have beards so do manly activities!
