Hi,
My name is Liz. Just getting right into the point - I've had my period on June 11th and ended on June 15th. About a week later I started to have some sort of bleeding again. It seem to be very light, was a brown color at first then turned red. I wasn't sure of what it was so I was very concerned. I decided to make an appointment with an OBGYN. On June 30th I went in for my appointment and I was told that I just have an "irregular bleeding". I was also recommended to take birth control pills but I decided not too because I was afraid of any kind of side effects. Since the day after my appointment, my irregular bleeding has become worse. It started to get heavier, I started to get cramps, my right and sometimes left abdomen was hurting, and I was getting low back pains. Its now about 2 weeks and 2 days, and I am still bleeding. The bleeding is getting a little lighter but I'm still having pains. I'm concerned - also part being that I've been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend and he has almost always ejectulate in me during and even off my menstrual cycle. My question is 1.) Do you have any clue what's wrong with me? 2.) Am I at any kind of risk in being pregnant? 3.) Is it possible that my irregular bleeding turned into my regular menstrual cycle? 4.) Would you recommend me to make another doctors appointment or should I just wait awhile?

Sincerely, Liz

1. There are many things that could be the cause of this irregular bleeding, but we can't diagnose you over the internet.

2. You could be pregnant, or miscarrying. You have unprotected sex, so the risk of pregnancy and STD's is very high. It's time to find a form of birth control, but even with birth control you could still get pregnant, it justs lowers the chances.

3. It's possible, but once again, we cannot diagnose you over the internet.

4. If it were me, I'd go back to the doctor.

Good luck.
