I am new to this site but I am very desperate. We have a 1 1/2 year old dauchound that insists on peeing and pooping on the floor I have tried everything. He can be out side for hours then come in a mess on the floor. HELP!!

Try next time he or she makes a mess in the house put them in a crate or kennel for 1 to2 hours and he/she will soon learn.

Go to the top of the forum and read the section on housebreaking in the sticky. Note there is very little about punishment in it.

When you think he needs to go out, TAKE him out. Walk him around. If he doesn't go, walk around some more. They can only walk and hold it so long. When he does something outside, praise him lavishly
