I'd go to a shelter. They know the history of the dog and have probably taken care of neutering and all shots, etc. and know about behavior and what is still needed. Don't get yourself hung up on a certain breed. Look for a dog who will give you years of love -- and who needs your love.

Yep go to a shelter those are the ones that need help the most and they usually have all their shots and are so cute go to www.petfinder.com/shelters/wa179.html then click on the OUr PET LIST

If you are really determined to get a staffie, I'd see if there was a breed rescue group near you. And I would think about getting an adult. That way you have some idea of the dog's temperament.

There are many staffies and pit bulls at shelters.

I think a great place to get a puppy from, is your Local Shelter or a Bull Terrior Rescur group.
