I moved into a 2 BR apartment with a roommate on April 1st, 2008. My roommate provided a "Roommate Agreement" document for me to sign. The document explained how the monthly rent and utilities would be divided. As well as the terms and length of the tenancy as stated in the lease between himself and the property management company. Our monthly rent is $1540. In the "Roommate Agreement" document it is stated that my roommate is to pay 66% of the rent and I am to pay 33% of the monthly rent. Respectively, $940 for his portion and $600 for my portion. I paid rent on time each month and was never late. In June, he decided he wanted me to move out. I did not want to vacate but he insisted. When I tried to pay my monthly rent, he would not accept it and told me I had until the end of the month to vacate. Needless to say, things became awkward between us until I came home from a weekend trip on June 15th to find myself locked out of the apartment. I had no access to my clothing or any other personal belongings. I was "put out" on the street with no warning. What are my legal rights?

Call the police and they will tell him he illegally evicted you and make him let you back in.
Then maybe you should start packing before he tries pulling something again.
Just getting your mail there alone makes it an illegal eviction.
