Since you didn't provide what engine you have, consider going with a 160 degree thermostat; e.g. the Stant below:

While we find your parts, please enter your ZIP Code at PartsAmerica.com (http://www.partsamerica.com/productdetail.aspx?MfrCode=STN&MfrPartNumber=29306&PartType=133&PTSet=A)

Obviously, you need to get the correct part no. for your engine.

Yes, and install with pin up. Seal (thermostat mounting rubber) goes over the thermostat.

If you see a pin on the periphery of the thermostat, it should face up. There might even be a cutout on the thermostat housing cluing you in. Install the thermostat first, place the gasket on top of the thermostat, then position the housing cover.
