I have a 4 yr old housebroken Pomapoo. Today, I caught him peeing on the floor in the kitchen. I yelled no, I tried tapping him on the rear, even lifting him up... and he just kept going. He didn't lift his leg, he was squatting down, so I don't think he was marking territory. He knows better. He just seemed unresponsive when I corrected him... didn't even blink...
I had been out for most of the day, so he hadn't been outside since about 7:30am- this accident happened at about 6pm.
Also, he has had a few seizures in the past, so I'm not sure if it's related- he's never lost control of his peeing/pooping before when having a seizure, but I know that it can happen.
Any idea why this would happen, and why a dog who typically does not have any accidents would have one?
Is he just being a bad dog, is he sick, or is there something I should do differently?
Please advise.

The reason he didn't stop, is because he COULDN'T!!

You need to get someone to come over and let your dog out if he's going to be alone for that amount of time. Could you hold it for that long? I doubt it.

My dogs are home in the house usually about the same amount of time (from 8am to 5:30pm), my dogs hold it in all day. But a few months ago my older dog started peeing on the floor too and we thought, that's not like him, but he only seemed to have these accidents once in a while, but fast forward to a few weeks ago: he was diagnosed with chronic renal failure. So I wouldn't wait too long and take him to the vet just to be sure it isn't that.

Please take him to the vet and discuss all of this with the vet. It could have been a mild seizure or even an urinary tract infection. Is your dog on medication for the seizures? Have they run tests and identified the cause? It might be that you are just asking too much of the little bladder. Health concerns can cause a dog to increase their water intake. My last dog could hold it for 10-12 on occasion when need be when he was younger. No more than 4 as his health declined ( he was diagnosed with cushings disease and drank gallons of water each day).
