Dear Expert:

I have Kenmore side-by-side refrig (almost 2 years). I found that every time when the refrig starts to run, I can feel the cool air from the bottom and the gap between the wall. Is it normal? If not, any hint about what's wrong?

Thank you for the help.

Every time when the fridge starts to run, what is actually starting to run is the compressor and in bigger models a fan also. That compressor starts pressurizing the cooling liquid, which thereby heats up, and is passed to the radiator panel, where the air cools it. Still under high pressure the liquid is entering the cooling section where it expands (where by it cools strongly), and is send back to the compressor for another run.
Once the fridge is cool enough, the compressor is switched off by the thermostat, and slowly everything cools down to room temperature.

So yes: when the compressor starts running, the first 15-30 seconds the air is still cool. After that the air passing over the heating radiator warms up also.
