View Full Version : Well Pressure Tank replaced w/WellSaver 36 - Lot's of air

Replaces a well pressure tank with a New WellSaver 36 pressure tank and now have a lot of air in system. What is the issue of air in the system, even after repeated air bleads?

Be sure you set the tank properly. The pressure at the valve at the top should be set to 2# below the cut in pressure for the pump. The tank should be empty when this is set. So if your pump cuts on at 30#, then the tank pressure will be 28#.

The Well Saver water pressure tank is listed as (1) size from Lowe's which dosen't have enough draw down gals. For my uses. Do they make a larger size that Lowe's dosen't carry. I need a min. of 9 gals as I do a lot of watering during the summer.

They come in MUCH larger sizes. Look here just for what Lowe's has that they can order:

You might want to simply add a second tank the same size as you have so as to not waste the first tank.

Ya got to realize that a bladder tank has air under the membrane to start with, (see images). In time and with use the air will bleed out into the system and be replaced with water. Then the system will began to operate normally. Good luck, Tom

I had a similar experience some time back & found out there was a leaking check valve at the submersible pump that allowed air to get into the pipe. Every time time the water would drain down, air would get into the pipe & this air would then get into the pressuer tank. Hope this may help, Mike
