I have a harbor breeze fan/light with a remote, pullchains, and a reverse switch in my bedroom. It was working fine until today. An A/C repair man came to inspect my cooling system, and told me to reverse the direction of my fan. He flipped the switch for me, (without stopping the fan first). 15 minutes later, I have no fan, or lights. I replaced the battery in the remote, no-go. I then replaced the wall switch and still no-go. Any suggestions would really be appreciated.

Check the fuse box / power board : most probably you have a tripped power switch.
If not, you have to use a voltmeter to measure if there is any voltage on the wiring towards the fan. Some fans have an internal in-line fuse for protection.
The problem is not in the remote, but either in the power supply of the fan , or in the fan itself.

Easiest way to troubleshoot, open the canopy where the fan mounts to the ceiling. Remove the remote receiver and wire the fan without it. The fan should then work from the wall switch and pullchains. If it does, your problem is in the remote kit.

That is exactly what I did, and it works fine now. I am going to buy another remote kit and install it. I want a remote for the simple reason of having a dimmer. I don't want to put a dimmer switch @ the wall.
