Last night between 9:30 PM and 11:00 PM, I consumed about Four 80 Proof shots mixed with orange juice. Today I took urine analysis at 3:00 PM, approximately 16 hours after my last drink. I weigh 150 pounds and am about 5'11''. Do you think there will still be alcohol content?

It should be out alcohol doesn't stay in your system for very long.

8 grams of alcohol = 1 unit of alcohol. With a healthy liver, it will take one hour for your liver to remove one unit of alcohol.

AA says: "As a general rule of thumb, the major metabolite in alcohol, ethanol, can be detected in your blood for up to 24 hours and in your urine for up to 48 hours.

There are a number of things about what you drink that can vary these figures, including:

Strength of the drink
Quantity consumed
How it is consumed
Frequency of your drinking
The presence of other drugs
Your mood and environment of use.
Other factors specific to you include:

Your tolerance
Your sex and age
Your overall health and well-being
Your general metabolic state.
These variables all interact to make it hard to accurately define a time when it will be out of your system. For further information, please contact your local health practitioner or pathology laboratory."

Alcohol (ethanol) has a relatively short window of detection in urine. If that is what is being tested for then one drink (1.5 oz) will clear your system in about 3-5 hours. However, if the urine is tested for Ethylglucuronide (EtG), then that same drink can be detected for up to 25-30 hours.

If you are tested for Urine Alcohol Content (UAC) there will be none. It is even unlikely that EtG/EtS would be present, but possible.

How about ETS?

EtS isn't administered separate from EtG at the present time. It's additive. EtS is slightly longer lasting than EtG and more stable.

Doesn't the test reading show if you've had excessive water?

Relax. Based on the amount of alcohol you claim to have consumed within one hour you'll never make it to the test.
