I worked for my last 2 companies for only 2 1/2- 3 years. I believe I was told would need to be there 5 years to be vested. I am now 60 years old and applied for SS disability. Would I be able to collect any 401K amounts from these past employers ?
Not sure if any benefits coming if not employed 5 years with either company.

You are always fully vested in money that you put into the 401(k). If your employer does matching funds, then you vest in those according to some schedule. If it's a 5-year vesting period, then generally it would be 20%/year, but I have seen other schedules. So, ig it was 20%/year, and you quite after 2 years, you would be entitled to 40% of the matching funds your employer had contributed.
