I am having a problem with my keyboard, when I try to type and log in my laptop keeps typing letters and numbers, how do I get it to stop? I have a compaq presario 1200 xl 111,
I would like to know how to wipe the hard drive clean, and start over.
But even the way it is now I can't log in because when I try to log in all I get is letters and numbers.
How do I stop this from going on?

Turn OFF you Num Lock.
It's normally located top right.
