I wanted to know if you can re-pierce a cartilage piercing because I'm not sure if that's what I did. I had my piercing for over 8 years with no problems, but the last 4 years I wasn't wearing it for work reasons. But I would still check to see if the hole was open and it was. A few days ago, I went to put an earing in and it was good al the way until the end where I had to push it through. Its as if the end hole shrunk, but it didn't pierce again. I mean there was no blood or anything. Now my ear is totally sore, and red with a little puss forming around the earring. What I want to know if that was a re-piercing or an allergic reaction or something. But those same earrings I wear in my lobes with no problem. PLEASE HELP!

It sounds as if the hole is just irritated from you putting jewelry in it when you previously didn't have any in for so long. Your body has to re-adjust to you wearing jewelry in that hole again.

If you choose to keep the earring in, clean it once a day with antibacterial soap. Other than that, don't touch it! Your body needs to get used to you having jewelry there again so the more you play with it the worse off its going to be.
