View Full Version : Outside electric sockets - no power following rain storm

Week or so ago I inadvertently left the cover open on the electric socket on the rear of the house. That night we had a storm. Couple days later I plugged something in and discovered - no juice. I tried the socket on the front of the house - no juice.

When I checked the circuit breaker box, I didn't see any switches thrown. Today, one by one I turned each switch to the off position - waited a couple seconds - turned the switch back on. The outside sockets still don't work.

Went into the house and pushed "test" button on each of the GFI plugs then reset. Still no juice outside.

Any thoughts ?

Thanks,
Indiana Guy

It does sound like maybe a GFI breaker or receptacle, are Bath, Kitchen, Garage all fine?

Thanks for your reply, Stratmando. There was a hidden GFI receptacle inside a closet in the garage that I was unaware of. Reset it and everything works.
