What is the easiest way to level the ground in preparation for putting up a rectangular pool?

I don't think we can be of much help until you answer DaBaAd's question. It would also help to know your soil conditions and the type or brand of pool.

The pool is 16 x 24 Kayak. We live in western PA so the soil is not clay or any thing like that but there is a slight grade to the yard. We found out that were we originally wanted to put the pool interferes with an old septic tank. The incline would be long ways on the pool. This pool has a deck built on one end.

I have a 27ftx52ft round and I am having trouble leveling it. I have a downward slope to the backyard, we used a new mix of pool sand and the part were the land slopes is the problem area. We drained the pool and leveled the stands all around and put patio blocks under the stands and rail put now it is showing we are 2 inches too much in the same area. What am I doing wrong
