I have been told I have to pressure test my vent pipeng for a inspection, And I won't have any problem EXCEPT I don't know how to plug the bathtub drain and overflow. The tub drain has a crossbar I don't want to pull out unless there is no other option and the overflow fitting I am not sure if it has enough lip to get a good seal. (They want me to fill the vent with water which weill put over 25' of head pressure on my plugs).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Normally this test is performed without testing the tub waste and overflow assembly in place.

Testing the tub waste and overflow is usually done by filling the tub to past the overflow and draining the tub a couple times AFTER this 1st waste and vent test is inspected!

What material are the pipes made of..

If plastic you should just need to loosen the nutted desanco fitting (see pic.) where the drain pipe meets the tub waste assembly and then cut into the drain pipe and use a jim cap (see pic.) or removable plug to prepare for the test.

Then perform test as needed.

Then should just need to purchase a coupling and prime/cement the joint and slide the pipe down from tub assembly and then tighten the desanco fitting and you should be up and running again.

If not plastic... if pipes older copper or galvanized... let me know. I would approach that different than above.
