Hi
I was hoping someone could explain how I can hook up a DVD/VHS combo unit to my Toshiba hd TV and Bell Expressview 3100 receiver so that I can otr recording feature. I have it all hooked together but when I try to record a program, say overnight, the television goes to the channel its supposed to record but it doesn't record? I've went back and forth with all the RCA cables and I can't see where I have it wrong. Frustrating!

Ok this is a dumb question, but do you have you DVD/VCR unit set up on a timer to record the program? The satellite receiver will only tune to the channel, you still would need to have the other unit record it. Also make sure your wiring goes Sat receiver to VCR/DVD to TV. If you are going to the TV first it, it won't record without the TV on. Good luck.

Not a dumb question at all. I'm very grateful to anyone willing to help. And yes I have it set to a timed record. With expressview set up you just go to any program on their "Guide" page, hit enter and you get a screen that says "Create". You click on that and it's automatically set to record that program or that's how it worked with my old VCR. I'll have to check on the wiring one more time though to make sure it's the way you specified.
