I posted a few weeks ago about a buzzing I get from my air handler and apparently haven't figured out what is wrong yet. It will start up and then after several minutes start slowing down while a buzz increases in volume until the motor stops. It spins freely when off, but has resistance when on. The outside unit continues to run even when handler will not.
My unit is a Carrier 40AQ030300SU
First, I replaced the capacitor... same problem
Then I noticed the sequencer? Was buzzing so I replaced it.
Now I figure all that's left is the motor, but I had it replaced just last summer.
However when I was looking at it it seems a wire coming of the sequencer looks like it should have a connecting wire to the motor but it does not. It comes from #6 on the sequencer and was just hanging there. Is this the wrong motor and thereby may be overheating? It is an Emerson ka55-hx-smr (it's a little blurred already so that's a guess.)
If the motor is bad, what should I replace it with? Or do you think it's something else? Thanks!
