I work for a non-union, S.Corp

We have been told that we will be shutting down for one week in July and any unused vacation time will have to be put towards that week--we can not use it how/when WE want, but are being forced to use it during 'shut down." In the last few years when this has occurred, we were not paid for this forced time off because 'it is not counted as an extra weeks' vacation." Are these issues legal?

As long as they are applied equally to all employees, yes.

Hello Jerry:

They're not telling you HOW to use your vacation time, just WHEN. I've worked for plenty of places that had a vacation shedule that I had to abide by. What's the big deal?
