Is there a formula to use to figure how long a downrod I need on a angled ceiling fan installation. The room is 10 ft and angles down to8ft. It is 12 feet long?

Im not sure about a formula you can really use any length downrod you like as long as the fan is at least 7 feet off the floor, 8 or 9 feet is often preferred . I personally have mine placed at about 9ft off the floor, but then I'm over 6ft tall . Most fans set up to be mounted on an angle ceiling come with a 4 inch down rod which for me worked out perfectly. I hope this helps if there is a formula maybe someone else will come along with it. GOOD LUCK, AC

You definitely don't need a 12' downrod, if that's what you were implying. It will depend on the angle of the ceiling. Probably 1-1.5' will be fine.
