I have been trying to have a kid, after still born 8 years ago. I think I'm ready to be a mom again. I have no so good peroids. I went to the doctor and discuss about wanting to have a baby. He put me on prometrium. Im lost, and would love to have answer.

Did he do some testing? If your progesterone levels were low, this would account for the Prometrium. Progesterone is a key player in getting pregnant.

Sometimes it will be used if someone has had several unexplained miscarriages as a precaution since having adequate progestrone levels helps to sustain a pregnancy... usually the placenta will provide this function early in a pregnancy, but sometimes it is not enough. Progesterone also plays a role in conceiving in the first place as it helps with the body preparing for fertilization. Some women have it prescribed, or use a natural progesterone cream, to extend a too short luteal phase (the time between ovulation and your period).
