Hi my cat is a very affectionate, talkative social one, she loves to sit on my lap and walk around meowing and being in the same room as me and my husband, but lately she has been hiding under the bed, its hard to get her to even come out for a treat, she usually will come when you call her name or shake the treat bottle, but now I have to go to the bed and give it to her under there, she will come out about 2 feet then go back under, this has been happening for two days now and I am becoming very concerned, its not like her at all she's only about 1-1/2 yrs old I just don't get why she would be under there, she can't be pregnant cause her and her brother are from the spca and they spade and neuter them... so what could it be, I know she still goes to her food and eats I have seen her in the litter box so she's still going, she also has one of her eyes squinting a lot, with goup coming out in the inner corner, I tried looking in it but I see nothing no hair or scratch or anything, any help would be greatly appreciated

Either she is telling u she is ill or she is mad. Cats are strange creatures. She could have seen a stray walking through the yard and blame you. Has anything changed in your house? Even the moving a single simple item could make her angry. I have an un-used highchair in my kitchen because when I tried to put it up the cat went nuts.

Cats tend to hide when they are not feeling well. Your description of eye discharge leads me to believe she is getting an upper respirator infection, or has an eye infection. If I were you, I would make an apt to see your vet to have her checked out. A cat who "always" eliminates in their littler box, then all of a sudden starts going in inappropriate places, can also be a sign of illness. If either of these two things happen, nine times out of ten kitty is getting sick.

Changes in environment can also be a culprit with hiding and just not acting normal, but with the eye discharge it sounds to me like she is getting sick.

I wish your kitty a speedy recovery & Good Luck!
