I have a designjet 100. Two days ago the print head needed replacing. I ordered and installed a new black printhead and since then the icon on the printer status display has not stopped flashing. On occasions I have managed to print a test sheet but not a proper letter. I contacted HP who said that the print head must be faulty. I have downloaded HP system maintenance and the new firmware - S.05.03 fmw, I have tried to align printheads and clean printheads. Each time I get a sheet with a printed green/grey bank across the top left half of the page.

I would appreciate any suggestions

Did you have the cartridge refilled or did you order a new HP cartridge?

If HP says the cartridge is defective, get the cartridge replaced either by the point of sale or HP.

I have the same problem with my Designjet 100 - the black printhead keeps flashing.

I replaced the printhead not the ink cartridge with a genuine hp 11 - but is still flashing

Any suggestions
