My mini dachshund is 3 months old and was eating great up till a couple days ago. He orginated on beneful, until we switched him over to a better dog food called natural choice. He loved it for a while and ate great, all of a sudden he seemed to loose interest. So we where told to try eagle pack dog food, which again he was great with no problems ate great, and then he stuck up his nose. We tried mixing wet food with it and worked for a couple of days now he won't eat any dog food we give him, but will eat rocks and sticks out side. I am really worried and he is getting extremely thin... what should I do to get him to eat his food before he starves?

I don't blame him for not eating. You have changed his food so many times. Just pick one and stay with it. He will eat when he is hungry and probably be happy with the same dog food all the time.

My walker hound has eaten IAMS for large dogs for a number of years. She sometimes goes off her food and I don't worry about it. Sometimes she just cuts back herself. She is l0 years old, active and healthy and happy.

Doxens are normally fussy eaters... I'd suggest adding boiled chicken or boiled rice to his food.

It sounds like a medical problem.

Oh, all the advantages of the premium chows are speculative, with no proof behind their claims. The one thing tickle is right about is picking a chow and sticking to it.

Labman, it is actually good to see your input again and I see still as crusty as ever. However I was thinking about your advice every time I saw an unusual sick dog post and actually thought 'where is labman when you need him most ! '
