Recently I've been having problems with a connector I used to get my Nintendo Wii online. When I connected it, it would say it was acquiring an address forever, or it would simply disconnect my internet service. Now here's where the 192. Comes in, I was told by a Nintendo tech that I needed to find my default gateway because I may have a conflicting ip problem. He said my default gateway should be 192. Something. Well it's not, it starts with only 2 numbers. Like this: xx.xx.xxx.x and I don't know how to fix it. The connector was working up until recently, and I hadn't made any major changes to my system since then. I released my ip twice but I don't know if that's it or not.

I connect to the internet using a pci card built into the back of the computer, and a modem. Every now and then my modem goes out like someone is trying to steal my internet. I don't know if this it true of course but it seems suspicious. Anyway I was just wondering what I can do. I've pretty much done all I can think of.

It starts with 10, right?

You can find your gateway by typing ipconfig.

Your public IP address can be found by using whatismyip.com.

You can tell us any numbers beginning with 10 and 192.168.

Unfortunately it doesn't start with 10. I originally remember having a 192.168.2.1 number and the usb connector and anything else I tried to use my connection for worked just fine, but now it's not the same number.
